Spense Matubang is a lighting and projections designer currently based in Oakland, California. They received their degree in Theater Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2020. Spense first joined the Dragon Lady team with its 2023 production at Marin Theatre and is overjoyed to be bringing this magical experience to the Geffen Playhouse! Recent credits include Fellow Travelers and The Emissary with Opera Parallèle, Best Available and The Triumph of Lovewith Shotgun Players, The Great Leap and Every Brilliant Thing with Center REP, the West Coast premiere of Edit Annie with Crowded Fire Theater, and the past two productions of Dragon Lady at Pittsburgh Public Theater and Marin Theatre.
