Everyday Heroes

Monday, April 29, 2019
Gil Cates Theater

Featuring Skylar Adams, Brady Alland, Kristin Y. Cho, Irene Cruz, Jean Noel Ruhland, Patrick Putnam, Diana Shield, Marina Viscun and Bernd Willand
Directed by April Fitzsimmons

In 2015, the Geffen Playhouse developed and piloted the Veterans Writing & Performance Project, which engages a diverse group of military veterans in four months of weekly writing and performance workshops, led by April Fitzsimmons — Air Force veteran, theater artist, and TV writer. This year, after being guided to explore authentic experiences during their military service, participants have created riveting stories about loss of innocence and profound transformation.

Please join us for an unforgettable evening of theatrical storytelling and stay afterwards for a special post-performance dessert reception. Run time: 90 minutes with no intermission.

Tickets are free thanks to the generosity of The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation. This program is supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency. Learn more at www.arts.ca.gov.
