Subscribers are an essential part of the Geffen Playhouse community. As loyal patrons, you allow us to present work ranging from world premieres to American classics season after season, and to share the joy of theater arts with communities throughout Los Angeles. From the moment you renew your subscription, to the final curtain for one of our plays, we are deeply committed to providing you with an experience of the highest quality. *On the day of a performance, the Box Office is open until curtain. However, one hour prior to each performance time, walk-up service is limited to current day exchanges and purchases.
Why have curtain times changed for Long Day’s Journey Into Night?
Due to the running time of this production, we have adjusted the curtain time to 7:00 pm for Tuesday–Saturday evenings, and 1:00 pm for Saturday matinees. Sunday matinees remain at 2:00 pm. Additionally, we have eliminated Sunday evening performances. If you were previously subscribed for a Sunday evening, your ticket for this show was shifted to an alternate performance during the 7th week. Please check your tickets for specific performance dates and times.
Why have performance dates changed for The Lion?
The Lion is a one-man show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer. Due to scheduling limitations, we have eliminated Sunday evening performances. If you were previously subscribed for a Sunday evening, your ticket for this show was shifted to an alternate performance during the 7th week. Please check your tickets for specific performance dates and times.
Why does my package include a performance on a Monday?
Performances do not take place on major holidays, or during Opening Nights for other Geffen Playhouse productions. We have added the following Monday night shows to accommodate subscribers affected by these scheduling conflicts.
The Model Apartment – Monday, November 14, 2016 (replacing performance on Wednesday, November 16, 2016)
Icebergs – Monday, November 14, 2016 (replacing performance on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 21, 2016)
The Lion – Monday, February 6, 2017 (replacing performance on Wednesday, February 8, 2017)
Where should I park?
Parking passes (one for every two subscription tickets purchased to each production) are provided to you along with your original subscription tickets. Treat these passes like cash as they cannot be replaced. Parking passes may be used for any performance. Please use these passes to park at:

Please remember to bring the appropriate number of passes with you to the theater. To enter the parking lot, insert one of your complimentary passes into the terminal at the entrance gate. When the arm is raised, wait for your pass to be returned to you. Please retain your pass, as it is required to exit the garage. To exit, insert the same pass that used to enter the garage. On-site parking lot staff will be on hand to assist you as needed, and further questions can be directed to the Geffen Playhouse Concierge.
Can I park at Ralph’s parking lot next door when I come to the Geffen Playhouse?
We do not recommend parking in this lot. Rates are significantly higher than those at the Glendon Apartments Parking Structure next to Trader Joe’s on Glendon and Weyburn. (1010 Glendon Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024)
What happens if I arrive late?
Should you arrive late to the theater or vacate your seat during the performance, please expect to be held in the lobby until an appropriate pause in the action on stage. To minimize disturbance to other patrons, you may be seated in the first available location by the house staff even if different from your assigned seat. Be advised that some productions or circumstances may not allow for late seating. To ensure you enjoy the performance in your assigned seat, please arrive at the theater at least ten minutes before curtain time.
Why were my seats moved for a particular show?
The set, lighting and sound configuration may occasionally require that your assigned seating location be moved to a more appropriate section of the house. This is especially true for the front rows in the Gil Cates Theater and the variable locations in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. We will notify you of any change in your seating location prior to your arrival at the theater and move you to an equivalent area of the house. Your new seat location is guaranteed to be in the same price section.
What is the Variable Section in the Audrey Skriball Kenis Theater?
The Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater offers an intimate and unique theater experience, in which the seating is designed specifically to accommodate the set design and other production details of each play. The nature of this theater prevents us from guaranteeing consistent seating locations throughout the season. However, once a show opens, seats remain in the same configuration for the run of the production.
How do I exchange my tickets for another date?
If you are unable to attend your originally scheduled performance, please call 310.208.2028 in advance of your scheduled performance. Subscribers may exchange tickets for equally-priced dates or seats. Exchanging your tickets for those at a higher price point requires that you pay the difference in ticket price. This is common for many Preview Subscribers requesting exchanges out of Preview week and into the regular run.
If you miss your scheduled performance, you may also exchange your tickets. In addition to any cost difference in the tickets themselves, you will be charged a fee of $10 per ticket.
All exchanges and past date courtesy tickets are subject to availability which may be limited — especially in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. Subscribers may only exchange into alternate performance dates within the same run of each production.
If you know that you cannot attend on your scheduled dates, you may also choose to donate your ticket(s) if you contact the subscriptions department prior to a performance; the value of this donation will be acknowledged by mail.
What happens if I lose or misplace my tickets?
If you lose or misplace your tickets, please contact the Subscriber Office at 310.208.2028 and you will be issued replacement tickets via email or will call.
I’m a Subscriber, but don’t have tickets to a Spotlight Entertainment Series production or a season show in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. May I purchase tickets to one of those shows at a discounted rate?
Subscribers receive early access to purchase tickets to non-season Spotlight Entertainment Series productions. To purchase additional tickets to season productions, contact the Subscriber Office for a discount of 10% off the regular ticket price. This offer is only valid for select performances and seating sections. Additional restrictions may apply.
What is the difference between Preview Week and the Regular run of the show?
Each production in the 2016/2017 runs for at least six weeks. Preview Week is comprised of the first eight shows of the run. Because the creative team continues to fine-tune the production during Previews, tickets to these shows are less expensive. The Regular run begins after Opening Night, and continues until the production closes.
As a subscriber, can I get discounts to other theaters?
Yes, this is a new perk! Geffen subscribers receive discounted tickets at participating theaters when they travel and we extend subscription pricing to visiting subscribers from other theaters. Geffen subscribers can mention GEFFEN17 when they purchase tickets to another theater. You can use this same code all year at every participating theater. For more info, visit www.nationalstages.org.

What are the various Signature Series that you offer?
Signature Series offer patrons special benefits before and/or after the show. Held for all shows on the Gil Cates Theater on various nights of the week, the events bring together the Geffen Playhouse community to discuss and celebrate the work on the stage.
