Study guides are designed to deepen the theatergoing experiences of participants in the Geffen Playhouse’s Education and Community Engagement programs, by providing background information and discussing the key themes and theatrical elements of each play. Geffen Playhouse teaching artists and community partners use the guides to conduct pre- and post-show sessions with over 500 high school students and constituents of 25 social service organizations who attend a full season of plays.
We invite all Geffen Playhouse audience members to enhance their playgoing experiences by perusing our study guides, before or after seeing shows at the Geffen. We also offer free access to the guides to anyone interested in learning about the plays. (Please note: If any or all parts of the guides are reproduced in print or online, the text must be unaltered and credited to the Geffen Playhouse.)
